In March 2010, POSAM (Preserving Our Southern Appalachian Music) launched its performing band, Sweet Potato Pie Kids, featuring standout students from the YAM Program. These talented young musicians are recommended by their instructors and must pass an audition to join. Currently, the band consists of eleven dedicated members. Sweet Potato Pie Kids serves as a vibrant ambassador for POSAM and the YAM Program, raising funds for the nonprofit through their performances. With their energy and passion, the band continues to thrive, booking an impressive array of shows.
