Created to help students continue growing as musicians, the Ryan Hood Memorial Guitar Scholarship Fund provides financial support for music lessons and related music education opportunities. By helping remove financial barriers, the program gives students the chance to keep learning, building confidence, and pursuing their musical goals.
Supporting the Next Generation of Musicians
The Ryan Hood Memorial Guitar Scholarships are awarded each year and are designed to help eligible students, regardless of the instrument they play, reach their goals as musicians and contributors to their community.
This program also supports YAM at its foundational level by providing participants with affordable access to music instruction rooted in traditional Appalachian music and culture.

Each award helps ensure that financial circumstances do not stand in the way of a student’s musical journey and that Ryan’s passion for music continues to inspire future generations.
