Each summer, Young Appalachian Musicians (YAM) brings young musicians together for unforgettable days of music, learning, creativity, and fun. Our camps provide students with the opportunity to strengthen their skills, build confidence, make new friends, and learn from experienced instructors in a welcoming, encouraging environment.

Middle & High School Music Camp

Designed for middle and high school students, the YAM Summer Music Camp provides an immersive experience where young musicians can strengthen their skills, explore Appalachian music traditions, and build friendships with fellow students who share a passion for music.

Each camp combines hands-on instruction, ensemble playing, workshops, and engaging activities led by experienced musicians in a fun and encouraging environment. Whether students have been playing for years or are looking to continue growing as musicians, camp offers an unforgettable summer experience.

TAM YAM Camp

Our Traditional Appalachian Music Camp Camp introduces rising third through ninth grade students to the joy of making music in a welcoming, supportive environment. Through engaging instruction, interactive activities, and group performances, students build confidence while discovering the traditions of Appalachian music.

Whether students are just beginning or already playing an instrument, our instructors encourage curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.
