Overview

Summer Camp is held in mid-July at the Hagood Mill Historic Site. Rising 3rd-9th graders can dive into the rich traditions of Appalachian music and culture with daily music instruction on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, or banjo. Every afternoon Appalachian traditions are experienced through hands on activities. This camp offers a perfect blend of learning and adventure for all skill levels! 2026 camp registration is now open.

Camp Details

Location: Hagood Mill Historic Site

Eligibility: All rising 3rd-9th graders.

Dates: July 13-17

Transportation: Drop off and pick up by parents or guardians.

AM Session

Music Instruction:

Guitar, mandolin, fiddle, or banjo for all skill levels.
AM Session

Breakfast/Lunch

Provided:

Free daily or bring from home.
Breakfast/Lunch

PM Session

Activities:

Traditional Appalachian games and activities.
PM Session

The cost of the annual, affordable camp is based on the Tier Level the student falls within.
