SUMMARY:YAM Afterschool Music Program
DESCRIPTION:The Young Appalachian Musicians (YAM) After School Music Progra
 m returns on September 28! We can't wait to welcome another year of young m
 usicians as students in 3rd through 5th grade discover the joy of playing g
 uitar\, fiddle\, banjo\, and mandolin by ear. Over the course of 20 weeks\,
  local musicians mentor students not only in traditional Appalachian music\
 , but also in confidence\, teamwork\, perseverance\, leadership\, and commu
 nity. Every lesson helps preserve the rich musical heritage of Southern App
 alachia while creating lifelong friendships and inspiring the next generati
 on of musicians.\nThe YAM After School Music Program is proud to partner wi
