DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special evening of music as Carolina Roots\, the 
 Young Appalachian Musicians (YAM) Program's premier high school ensemble\, 
 opens for New Dixie Storm at this free concert sponsored by the City of Pic
 kens. Carolina Roots was created to provide advanced performance opportunit
 ies for high school musicians\, allowing students to continue growing music
 ally while remaining connected to the YAM program beyond middle school. Thr
 ough challenging performances\, community partnerships\, and regional appea
 rances\, these young musicians develop leadership\, professionalism\, and a
  deeper appreciation for the traditions of Southern Appalachian music. Come
  support these talented students and see how YAM is investing in the next g
 eneration of musicians while preserving the rich musical heritage of our re
 gion.
